Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my Algonkin heritage search concerns, and for recommending the "Discussion" site. Would you consider placing my above label for a discussion entry item. Although I currently live in Spokane, Washington State, I participate in Native American ceremonies here and in the sacred Black Hills including the ghostdance, sweatlodge, and the sacred pipe circle, and at times, we have different tribes which bring their own heritage medicine pipes like the Algonquin "Blackfeet" with their black steatite "MicMac chestnut" style or the Cherokee with the grey shale bowl (normally we have the red catlinite Sioux pipes). It would be nice if I could represent my ancestorial heritage through an "Algonkin" ceremonial pipe. I do have a Canadian "Woodland People" black pipe with spruce stem (I believe possible Huron, Ottawain, or Algonkin) as it's design came from a camp near "NE Lake Ontario and it is very MicMac in looks.
Anyone who is interested in sharing and initially starting up a heritage prayer pipe ceremony (of the Algonkin) should contact me. Both of us would learn and be better for it.
Thank you once again, Mark.
Sincerely,
Paul "Valliere" Burke Metis (French/Algonkin)
