My closest friends and I visited Lake Kipawa for the first time this past August and loved it. After traveling to many areas in Canada over the past 25 years, I proclaim your area as my favorite. We stayed at Corbeau Lodge and have already booked for another week next year. I can't wait.
Upon my return home, I promptly hooked up on kipawa.com and have to admit I visit often. The site is great and will bridge my wonderful memories from this year's visit to next's. I ordered the Kipawa River Chronicles from the site link and read through the book without putting it down. It is great and I encourage anyone that has visited the area or lives in this area to read it. Scott Sorensen does the area proud in his storytelling and imagery.
Anyway...can anyone provide an update to the base of this book; the move by Hydro Quebec to divert the Kipawa River. Has this occurred? Have they abandoned the idea? Is it still being debated? Please advise me and keep up the good work on the web site. I will submit pictures of our trip for for the site if you request.
