Just a point of interest. I have not yet seen the video, but this "secret" lake is in fact Cook's Lake to be found just east of Lake Ostaboning about Halfway better the Southern end and the outlet of the Cherry river.
In 1971 there was a portage but in very poor repair. It was steep, very rocky and not really maintained. I doubt if it is passable today.
I mention this because in June, 1971, Christopher Bucher (Bucher's general store, Kipawa), Mike Hogben and myself, portaged in with two Aluminum boats, a 10 hp Johnson and a 5 gallon cruising tank.
Materials having been airlifted in we built that cabin featured in the program. The roof is not the original as that collapsed a couple a years back.
I'm surprised the place lasted that long as none of us had any experience building.
Postcards featuring the original camp as a backdrop to two nubile ladies in Bikinis (I won't divulge names) holding a fine string of fish may be purchased at Bucher's store in Kipawa.
