Carl Mongrain has sold Alwaki Lodge and it is currently under new ownership. I have heard mixed comments about the future of Alwaki Lodge .... one being that it will be still run as an outfitting business with only a few cabins available for rental as repairs will be done to improve some of the cabins. Alwaki Lodge may not have been the most comfortable choice to stay but I must admit that the owners were not only friendly and hospitable to their customers but to the locals who often stopped in as well. Its one thing to operate an outfitting business and treat your "paying" customers well but there are a few outfitters out there that should be reminded that the residents of the area deserve the same respect.
