Ian, the fishing contest with your friend: No. 1, Dipping bait in gas. No. 2, Spraying WD-40 on the bait No. 3 Salted minnows, No. 4 Using shrimp as bait proved to be excellent on Lake Nipissing in North Bay ON., No 5, I still recommend worms or night-crawlers. When we get a bite trolling, we stopped the motor and still-fished in that area or "jigged" as you mentioned. The lake is still open and no flies. Last year Christmas 2001, Santa Claus was riding on the deck of a boat on Jawbone's Bay. PS>> Definitely bring your thermos bottle. All the best to you and your friends. John
