Dawn, I would steer clear of any of the multiple part or telescoping rods. Too many weak links. Two piece rods are the norm. A person's height has nothing to do with their choice of rod length, it all depends on what type of fishing one is doing. For walleye in Lakes such as Kipawa, I prefer a medium action rod, 7 feet long. I have several, but a good choice for durability and value is the Ugly Stick by Shakespear. Paired up with a medium sized spinning reel, it is a hard combo to beat. Sure, I have rods a like better, but the Ugly Stick cost me $29 (US) and has taken a beating for years and still hauls them in. If you aren't inclined toward a spinning outfit, Ugly Sticks come in baitcasting models as well.
