Roy - Without seeing the boat, to make up the difference, I'd sandwich a piece of wood (cut to size) between some aluminum plates (oversized) and bolt it through the current transom - perhaps through the motor mount as well. I'd use the current transom, with the additional wood to support the motor mounts via the aluminum plates. The plates (front and back) would utilize the strength of the current transom translated to the inserted wood piece - anyway..good luck - just some early morning thoughts - Beno
